Job Projections: What's Hot and What's Not
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Spring 2008 Occupational Outlook Quarterly has been published. It provides the information on the job outlook from 2006-2016. For instance registered nursing jobs is expected to grow by 587,000 jobs between 2006 and 2016. Computer Software Engineer jobs are expected to grow by 38%. Most occupations will grow, on average, by 10%. Keep in mind when looking at the results that high growth rates don’t necessarily mean lots of jobs. Radiation therapy jobs are expected to grown by 25% but that is only mean about 3,600 total new jobs.
