When reviewing the “The Global 2000” list on the Forbes' site, you can sort by rank, company (alpha), industry and country by clicking on the headings at the top of the columns.
Some of the mentions on the “Big Companies that Are Hiring” list include
- Ranstad Holdings
- Tesco
- IBM
- Accenture
- Metro AG
This resource can be helpful to job seekers who are looking for a strong growing company to work for. Also, the report includes the “high performers” and “winners and losers”. If you are currently working for a large public company, see if your company is featured and if they are considered a strong performing company. If not, evaluate if you should stay and ride out the downturn. Is the downturn temporary? What are your company's plans to get back on track? Do some more research about your company, industry and competitors and determine if you should look for another job opportunity with a company that is growing and expanding. It is best not to wait until the next downsizing or layoff to make a career move.
