If you are job searching when the unemployment rate is at its all time high, then you will find job searching a little more challenging than usual. Or, maybe you are at a company that shows signs of cutting back and you smell a future downsizing. So what's a person to do? Fortune provides a list of seven great tips from executive coaches on how to job search effectively in a slow economy. According to the article, only 20% of job opportunities are advertised and in when the economy is down, the number is even less. Plan on spending more time on your job search efforts and be creative. Simply using the same search tools like newspapers and job boards that every other job hunter is using is not going to cut it. One of the keys to being successful is networking.
