MOTIVATION blue%20pen.jpg

motivationAre you motivated to take charge of your life, career and college choices? Are you discouraged and lacking enthusiasm? If you need help in the motivation department, you are not alone. It is hard sometimes to step out of comfort zones and change things in your life. It is not easy to try something new and take on more responsibility. You may be simply overwhelmed by the choices and responsibilities the new choices will bring.

We have spent years in school and in college. Unfortunately, courses on how to succeed in life are not offered as part of the required curriculum. People should learn how to deal with things like lack of motivation and procrastination and things that prohibit them from reaching their full potential and happiness in life. There are many books on the market on this topic so spend some time and read some of them. They can get you on the right track and may provide you with some life changing information. You may find the motivation and inspiration you need to begin your journey in these resources. Here are just a few quick tips to get you motivated and on your way:

  • This life is yours so you can shape and design it!
  • Yes, bad things happen but you make your own choices and decisions.  Remember how you react and handle these situations is important.
  • If you make a mistake or if bad things happen, stay positive and keep going.
  • Seek out a professional counselor and/or seek out guidance from your minister and/or a trusted friend.
  • Some problems can be taken care of before they happen. If you are driving on four bald tires, then you are bound to have a flat, so take care of the problem before you have a blow out.
  • Visualize your future and where you want to be a month, a year and 5 years from now-write it down! I know this sounds corny but positive thinking and affirming it in writing is a great way to keep you motivated.
  • Take action to make things happen. Don’t just sit around doing nothing.
  • Get over your fear by tackling what it is that you are afraid of.
  • Ask for help and support from your friends and family.
  • Believe in yourself and your abilities and capabilities.
  • Seek a spiritual connection.
  • Don’t listen to others who say you can’t or shouldn’t. It is OK to seek out opinions and guidance from others.  If you are reading this right now on a website, then I didn’t listen to someone who told me not to do this website.  When the content for the website was being written someone said "your crazy, and it will never work".
  • Set and reach goals in your personal, work, academic and spiritual life.
  • Simplify your life and don’t fill your day with busy work or things that waste your time (watching TV, surfing the Internet).
  • Sounds simple but just don’t give up! Take steps towards achieving your dream. The concept for this website started in 2002 and was worked on for years before it was launched in 2007.
